  • My Anniversary

Well as of this week James and I have been married for 4 years.  On the one hand it seems like it has been a long time and then on the other hand I can't believe that the last 4 years have gone so fast.  So much has changed since we married.  So to celebrate this day we decided to go out to dinner and a movie.  It's been awhile since we have gone to the movies.  We don't go too often because it is so expensive to go and you can always rent it later.  So we went and saw The Watchmen.  I'm not going to give anything away but this was not what I was expecting.  I was expecting something along the line of Spiderman or X-Men.  This movie was not even close.  It was very violent.  So to my surprise I look over before the the movie starts and I see a dad with a 8-10 year old girl were in the theater.  I don't think much about it because again I'm thinking this is going to be like Spiderman.  Well about 20 minutes into the movie I realize that it is not.  Had I brought my child not realizing what this movie was like I would have left.  Needless to say that the movie did not get any better with violence and the dad stayed with his daughter the whole movie.  Everytime something questionable for a child to be watching I was incredibly uncomfortable and I kept expecting the dad to walk out.  Nope they stayed for the whole 3 hour movie.  I had to wonder if her mother knew that she was going to this movie.  I sometimes have to question the judgements of parents.  I will admit I am probably more lax than some parents but this movie was no where close to appropriate for her.  So needless to say James and I talked more about that after we left than the movie.
We tried out a new restraunt too.  We went to Fish City Grill.  It was pretty good.  They had pretty decent prices and the portions weren't too big or too small.  Overall we had a nice night out.  It was good to have sometime together.

It drives me crazy to see kids in movies that are inappropriate for their age.  I just can't imagine what some parents are thinking!

Happy Anniversary!  Time flies by, doesn't it?
